Not buggering around releasing files on sf would help here. Why do we do this again? (Particularly now even I can update files on www.python.org...)
We thought it would be good PR. I kind of doubt its effectiveness. Let's stop after 2.2. (Or do you want to stop before 2.2.1? Fine with me, too.)
