Just be sure to keep the code compatible with Python 1.5.1 (see PEP 291).
I've just noticed that sre_*.py were changed to include True/False, "foo in dict" and other recent conventions. Don't they break PEP 291? Should we fallback those changes? Or perhaps PEP 291 applies just to C code?
