[Python-Dev] Python 2.2.2 release tonight - checkin freeze on branch

I'd like to do the 2.2.2 release tonight, unless Jack has any unresolved problems. (Jack, mail me ASAP if you do!)

Please, no more checkins to the release22-maint branch until the release is done (with the exception of the Mac subtree, and Fred & Tim).

I still have to update the Misc/NEWS file.
