If Barry doesn't have time for this one, I'll work on it.

I'm still planning to work on it and get it in for 2.4a3, and I know that Raymond has offered to help. Raymond, email me directly and we'll arrange a time to chat about it on irc. I have a couple of open issues that are waiting to be resolved before this PEP lands.
