- The @ character is used in at least two tools (Leo, IPython), and this is being considered as something bad, but not a show stopper;

I wonder how bad @ is, even for Leo. Is there any consensus or opinions about how many files will actually contain annotations? If there aren't many, people could change the delimiter for Leo directives from @ to @@ just for those files :-) Of course, Leo can't do this yet, but that's a nit...

P.S. Oh yeah, just to make sure: @@ won't be valid in annotations, will it?
