Thanks, Fred. 'setuptools' is now checked in under python/nondist/sandbox/setuptools; you can install it and run its test suite via 'python setup.py test'.

Also, if nobody has any objections to my patch for SF bug #743267, maybe I should apply that too, at least on the head. I'm not sure my CVS-Zen is strong enough yet to try backporting to the 2.3 bugfix branch, though. :)
