That is a very U.S. centric view. I don't share it, but I think it is pointless to argue against it.

I should have included a ;). Whether or not in the future all languages use the latin alphabet should have little to do with whether Python chooses to support non-latin identifiers in the forthcoming 2.5 or later releases.
