Does this mean it's time for "pyST" -- Python-structured text?-)
Not before someone writes it. Georg Brandl's awesome ReST based system has the nice property that it actually exists and works. For a great number of reasons it is superior to the existing LaTeX based system, and I hope and think that they are strong enough to replace LaTeX with it.
