Of course not! There will always be children ... I hope.
The point of Design Patterns is to give a vocabulary that can be used in an "in group" context without any explanation at all, and in the stylized form

Joel, Yen-shih, and Gundarmambanagoong, which is ...
which educates the young and allows the cognoscenti to daydream for a minute.
