Apologies if you've done so before -- I've been trying to follow this discussion, but that point doesn't seem to have come through clearly. Please don't apologize. It shouldn't matter how many times it's been mentioned on the mailing list. The PEP process is intended to summarize the discussion. A PEP should pretty much stand alone, with specific external links when necessary. The use case should be added to the PEP.
