Downloads are at
http://python.org/download/releases/2.6.8/ http://python.org/download/releases/2.7.3/ This page lists 'program databases' after the normal msi installers for Windows. I am puzzled and curious as to what those are, and I suspect other naive users will be too. http://python.org/download/releases/3.1.5/ http://python.org/download/releases/3.2.3/ No such thing here.
Here they are called "Visual Studio debug information files". I agree that "program database", while it is the official name of the file and the literal meaning of the file extension ".pdb", is not a very good description.
