To help make the 'x' more intuitive, it would be helpful if the mode was referred to as "exclusive create" in the docs (at least once, anyway), and the What's New entry stated explicitly that 'x' is used based on the C11 precedent. Otherwise, I'm sure I'll be far from the only one thinking "why not 'c'?". People shouldn't have to go read the tracker item to find out the reason 'x' is used instead of 'c'.
