Hmm, perhaps this would be less subtle: HEY, WHY DON'T YOU GUYS GO TO WORK ON A STATS MODULE! http://pypi.python.org/pypi/stats It is not even close to production ready. It needs unit tests. The API should be considered unstable. There's no 3.x version yet. Obviously it has no real-world usage. But if anyone would like to contribute, critique or criticize, I welcome feedback or assistance, or even just encouragement.
Just an update on this, there's a sprint planned to work on this this coming Thursday at the University of Washington in Seattle. We'll also be set up for people to join us remotely if anybody's interested. Here's the link to the signup: http://goo.gl/PJn4
