I have successfully built and installed a framework version of python 2.4 using the source from python.org. However I cannot seem to be able to get readline working. It is installed on the system and is available in terminal windows and Apple's supplied python 2.3. I downloaded the gnu readline source and rebuilt/installed it and it seemed to work. I rebuilt python (adding --enable-readline , although I understand I should no longer have to do this) but still no success in python.
Has anyone got any ideas
