   **int ioctl(int** _fd_**, TIOCSPGRP, const pid_t ***_argp_**);**
   **int ioctl(int** _fd_**, TIOCGSID, pid_t ***_argp_**);**

DESCRIPTION top

   **TIOCGPGRP**
          When successful, equivalent to _*argp = tcgetpgrp(fd)_.

          Get the process group ID of the foreground process group on
          this terminal.

   **TIOCSPGRP**
          Equivalent to _tcsetpgrp(fd, *argp)_.

          Set the foreground process group ID of this terminal.

   **TIOCGSID**
          When successful, equivalent to _*argp = tcgetsid(fd)_.

          Get the session ID of the given terminal.  This fails with
          the error **ENOTTY** if the terminal is not a master
          pseudoterminal and not our controlling terminal.  Strange.

RETURN VALUE top

   On success, 0 is returned.  On error, -1 is returned, and _[errno](../man3/errno.3.html)_ is
   set to indicate the error.

ERRORS top

   **ENOTTY** The terminal is not a master pseudoterminal and not our
          controlling terminal.

   **EPERM** Insufficient permission.
