This picture of globular cluster M14 was made from CCD images taken at the KPNO 0.9-meter telescope in April of 1998. Image size 11.6 arc minutes. A somewhat loose globular cluster, with a very small ellipticity, M14 appears in the constellation Ophiuchus. About 30,000 light-years away, it is about 100 light-years across, with a denser part measuring about 75 ly.
