Supernova 2013am in M65 (original) (raw)
Supernova 2013am was discovered in M65 on March 21, 2013 by M. Sugano, who reported a magnitude of 15.6. This almost coincides with the brightest values found days later. This supernova is located 15.3" E and 103.2" S of the nucleus of M65. From its spectrum, this supernova was found to be of type II. To April 17, it had faded to mag 16.3.
