Supernova 2009hd in M66 (original) (raw)
Supernova 2009hd was discovered in M66 on July 2, 2009 by Berto Monard of South Africa, who reported a magnitude of 15.8. Swift satellite measured mag_v = 16.7 +/- 0.2 on July 4. This supernova is located 28" E and 42" S of the nucleus of M66, at the inner edge of a prominent spiral arm.
