This image of globular cluster M75 in Sagittarius was obtained at the KPNO 0.9-meter telescope in October 1998. It is an approximately true-color composite; image size is 9.1 arc minutes. The cluster is about 61,000 light years distant and 100 light years across; its overall brightness is roughly 100,000 times that of the Sun.

Globular cluster Messier 75 in the infrared light, as photographed by the 2MASS infrared telescopes, and imaged in the 2MASS Atlas. The image field is 6.0 x 6.0 arc minutes. As for all infrared images, this is a false-color image. In this case, different IR wavelength bands were mapped to colors, with the coolest (shortest, farthest IR wavelengths) red and the warmest (longest, nearest to visible) blue. - More 2MASS IR images
