This image of open cluster M93 was obtained by Wayne Johnson of theOrange County Astronomers (OCA), with the 22-inch Kuhn Telescope and OCA CCD camera. M93's distance is estimated at 3,600 light-years; its diameter at about 20-25 ly. Its location in Puppis means that it lies in an outer arm of the Milky Way galaxy.

  Jan Wisniewski took this image of M93. It represents autoguided 20 minute exposure on Ektachrome P1600 taken with Ultima 8 f6.3 SCT on Jan.26, 1999 from Sooke, BC.

  This image of open cluster M93 has been obtained bySteve Bell in December 1999 from a SW suburb of Denver, CO. It was taken under considerably poor conditions (poor seeing, severe light polution). It was taken with a 16-inch f/4.7 Newtonian telescope, exposed 75 minutes on hypered TP2415 film (developed in HC-110 for 6 mins). Steve used a RG 630 red filter, mounted after a Lumicon coma corrector/field flattener. This cluster was at a low altitude when shot (~25 deg), in very poor seeing, resulting in somewhat bloated star images.
