The Pacific War Online Encyclopedia: Hatakeyama Koichiro (original) (raw)
Hatakeyama commanded Amoy Special Base Force when war broke out. He commanded the Ambon Invasion Force which seized the island in February 1942. He is alleged to have ordered the massacre of Allied prisoners at Laha airstrip, but was killed in a plane crash in China in early 1945 and so did not stand trial for the crime.
