| Variants | SA-1 was an even lighter weight version (900 lbs or 400 kg with a 5' by 6' [1.52m by 1.83m] antenna) for destroyer escorts, and frigates. It lacked lobe switching, which reduced its accuracy (to 3 to 5 degrees) |
The SA was a derivative of CXAM used on smaller naval vessels such as destroyers (SA), destroyer escorts, and frigates(SA-1). SA had improved resolution due to the use of lobe switching and provisions for Identification Friend or Foe, but neither model provided elevation information or could match the range of the best SC radars.
