CapSat 1 [Weiss School]
The CapSat 1 (Capacitor Satellite 1) is an 1U CubeSat educational mission by the Weiss School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to establish a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program featuring a hands-on, research-focused approach, to foster student�s natural curiosity and to facilitate excellence via individual and team competitions.
CapSat-1 will measure capacitance and the discharge rate of capacitors as a function of time to test the efficiency of using capacitors as an electrical power system in place of lithium-ion batteries.
It was selected in 2019 by NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI) to be launched as part of the ELaNa program.
