John Cartland was born on 3rd January 1907. Educated at Charterhouse he joined the Conservative Party and was elected to the House of Commons to represent King's Norton in November 1935.
He joined the British armed forces soon after the outbreak of the Second World War and was killed in action in France in May 1940.
