DESCRIPTION
Poseidon, armed with a trident, battles the serpent-footed giant Polybotes (partially shown). Behind him Nike (Victory) drives the god's chariot. The earth-goddess Gaea reclines beneath his feet upon the ground. She is clothed in a green robe and holds a cornucopia brimming with fruit. Athena, standing on the far right, wears a knee-length, red dress and plumed helmet.
