Godefroi I de Louvain, Duc de Basse-Lorraine1

Godefroi I de Louvain, Duc de Basse-Lorraine was born circa 1074 at Lorraine, FranceG.2 He was the son of Henri II, Comte de Louvain and Adèle de Bettau.1 He married, firstly, Ida de Chiny, daughter of Otto II, Comte de Chiny and Adelaide de Namur, circa 1105.3 He married, secondly, Clementia de Bourgogne, daughter of Guillaume I, Comte Palatin de Bourgogne and Stephanie de Lorraine, after 1121.1 He died on 25 January 1140 at Jerusalem, IsraelG.2
Godefroi I de Louvain, Duc de Basse-Lorraine also went by the nick-name of Godefroi 'le Barbu' (or in English, Geoffrey 'the Bearded.1') He gained the title of Marquis de Antwerp.1 He gained the title of Comte de Louvain.1 He gained the title of Duc de Brabant in 1106.1

Maud de Blois was born before 1099. She was the daughter of Stephen II Henry, Comte de Blois and Adela de Normandie.1 She married Richard d'Avranches, 2nd Earl of Chester, son of Hugh d'Avranches, 1st Earl of Chester and Ermentrude de Clermont, in 1115 at Barfleur, Normandy, FranceG.2 She died on 25 November 1120 at Barfleur, Normandy, FranceG, drowned in the wreck of the White Ship.2
She was also known as Matilda de Blois.2 She was also known as Lucy de Blois.2
