Reverend Hubert Murray Burge1

Reverend Hubert Murray Burge was born on 9 August 1862 at Kingston, JamaicaG.2 He married Evelyn Isabel Franck Bright, daughter of Reverend James Franck Bright and Emmeline Theresa Wickham, in 1898.1 He died on 10 June 1925 at age 62, from pneumonia.2
He was educated in 1874 at Bedford Grammar School, Bedford, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated between 1882 and 1886 at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1886 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was a teacher between 1887 and 1890 at Wellington College, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1891 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was a Fellow between 1891 and 1900 at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was Headmaster between 1901 and 1911 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Bishop of Southwark between 1911 and 1918.1 He held the office of Bishop of Oxford between 1919 and 1924.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
