General Prince Platon Sergeievich Obolensky was born on 12 June 1850. He was the son of Prince Sergey Aleksandrovich Obolensky-Neledinsky-Meletzky.2 He married Princess Maria Naryshkina on 31 January 1888.1 He died on 27 June 1913 at age 63.
He fought in the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Life Guards Cossack Regiment. He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Vladimir of Russia in 1883. He was awarded the Knight Grand Cross, Order of the White Eagle of Russia in 1886. He gained the rank of General in the Imperial Russian Army. He was created Prince Obolensky-Neledinsky-Meletzky [Russia] in 1907.

He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Atkins, of Clapham, Surrey [E., 1660] on 19 August 1689, and 'of Newport Pagnell, co. Bucks.1' He was Colonel of the Regiment of Foot.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckinghamshire between 1695 and 1698.1
