Sir Arnold Lawson1

Sir Arnold Lawson was born on 4 December 1867.2 He was the son of George Lawson.2 He married Helen Hargreaves Clark, daughter of Andrew Clark, in 1904. He died on 19 January 1947 at age 79.2
He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He was educated in 1886 at Middlesex Hospital, London, EnglandG.2 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.) in 1891.2 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.) in 1891.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1893.3 He was ophthalmic surgeon in 1896 at Children's Hospital, Paddington, London, EnglandG.2 He was assistant surgeon and surgeon between 1900 and 1914 at Royal London Ophthalmic Hospital, London, EnglandG.2 He was surgeon between 1914 and 1932 at Middlesex Hospital, London, EnglandG.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1920.1,2 He wrote the book Lawson's Diseases of the Eye, 6th edition, editor.2 He lived at Passenham Manor, Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1
