Sidney Lewes Dashwood1

Sidney Lewes Dashwood was born on 25 November 1882.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Lewes Dashwood and Edith Theresa Cooper.2 He married Joan Burrard, daughter of Sir Sidney Gerald Burrard, 7th Bt. and Gertrude Ellen Haig, on 19 April 1922.1 He died on 25 December 1966 at age 84.1
He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Engineers (Territorial Army) and Royal Air Force.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.1
