Rt. Hon. George Canning was born on 11 April 1770 at London, EnglandG.4 He was the son of George Canning and Mary Anne Costello.4,5 He was baptised on 9 May 1770 at St. Andrew, Holborn, London, England.6 He married Joan Scott, Viscountess Canning of Kilbrahan, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Scott and Margaret Dundas, on 8 July 1800 at Brook Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG, bringing him a fortune of £100,000.5 He died on 8 August 1827 at age 57 at Chiswick Villa, London, EnglandG.4 He was buried on 16 August 1827 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.4 His will was proven (by probate) on 21 August 1827.4
