Richard Parsons, 1st Viscount Rosse was born circa 1656.2 He was the son of Sir William Parsons, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Catherine Jones.2 He married, firstly, Anne Walsingham, daughter of Thomas Walsingham, on 27 February 1676/77.2 He married, secondly, Catherine Brydges, daughter of George Brydges, 6th Baron Chandos of Sudeley and Lady Susan Montagu, on 14 October 1681.2 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Sir George Hamilton, Comte Hamilton and Frances Jenyns, in December 1685.3 He died on 30 January 1702/3.4
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Parsons [I., 1620] on 31 December 1658.4 He was created 1st Viscount Rosse, co. Wexford [Ireland] on 2 July 1681, with special remainder to the male issue of his great-grandfather.4 He was created 1st Baron Oxmantown [Ireland] on 2 July 1681, with special remainder to the male issue of his great-grandfather.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1686.4 In February 1695/96 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for high treason.4

Richard Parsons, 1st Earl of Rosse was the son of Richard Parsons, 1st Viscount Rosse and Elizabeth Hamilton.1,2 He married, firstly, Mary Powlett, daughter of Lord William Powlett and Louisa de Caumont, on 25 June 1714.2 He married, secondly, Frances Claxton, daughter of Thomas Claxton, in 1719.2 He died on 26 June 1741.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Rosse, co. Wexford [I., 1681] on 30 January 1702/3.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Oxmantown [I., 1681] on 30 January 1702/3.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Parsons [I., 1620] on 30 January 1702/3.2 He was created 1st Earl of Rosse [Ireland] on 16 June 1718.3

Anne Walsingham was the daughter of Thomas Walsingham.1 She married Richard Parsons, 1st Viscount Rosse, son of Sir William Parsons, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Catherine Jones, on 27 February 1676/77.2 She died, without issue.1
Her married name became Parsons. After her marriage, Anne Walsingham was styled as Viscountess Rosse on 2 July 1681.

After her marriage, Mary Powlett was styled as Viscountess Rosse on 25 June 1714. From 25 June 1714, her married name became Parsons. After her marriage, Mary Powlett was styled as Countess of Rosse on 16 June 1718.

Lord William Powlett was born circa 1663.2 He was the son of Charles Powlett, 1st Duke of Bolton and Mary le Scrope.1,3 He married, firstly, Louisa de Caumont, daughter of Armand Nompar de Caumont, Marquis de Monpouillon and Amelia Wilhelmina van Brederode.2 He married, secondly, Anne Egerton, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Randolph Egerton and Hon. Elizabeth Murray, in October 1699.2 He died on 25 September 1729.4
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Winchester.4

Frances Claxton1

Frances Claxton was the daughter of Thomas Claxton.1 She married, firstly, Richard Parsons, 1st Earl of Rosse, son of Richard Parsons, 1st Viscount Rosse and Elizabeth Hamilton, in 1719.2 She married, secondly, Robert Jocelyn, 1st Viscount Jocelyn, son of Thomas Jocelyn and Anne Bray, on 15 November 1754.1 She died on 25 May 1772, without issue.1
After her marriage, Frances Claxton was styled as Countess of Rosse in 1719. From 1719, her married name became Parsons. From 15 November 1754, her married name became Jocelyn. After her marriage, Frances Claxton was styled as Baroness Newport of Newport on 15 November 1754. After her marriage, Frances Claxton was styled as Viscountess Jocelyn on 6 December 1755.
