Fritz Adam Hermann von Opel was born on 4 May 1899 at RüsselheimG.1 He was the son of Adam Wilhelm von Opel and Martha Bade.1 He married, firstly, Margot Löwenstein in 1930.1 He and Margot Löwenstein were divorced before 1947.1 He married, secondly, Emita Herrán Olozaga, daughter of Rafael Bernando Herrán Echeverri and Lucia Olozaga, in 1947 at New Jersey, U.S.A.G.1 He died on 8 April 1971 at age 71 at Samedan, Kanton Graubünden, SwitzerlandG.1
Fritz Adam Hermann von Opel also went by the nick-name of 'Rocket Fritz'.1 In 1928 he tested the first rocket propelled car, the RAK.1, achieving a top speed of 75 km/hr. Two months later, he acheived 230 km/hr in RAK.2.1 On 30 September 1929 at Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, GermanyG, he flew a rocket-powered sailplane (also called RAK.1.)1
