Colonel Richard Edward Crichton was born on 21 June 1879.1 He was the son of Colonel Hon. Sir Henry George Louis Crichton and Letitia Grace Cole-Hamilton.2 He married Cecil Nona Kerr, daughter of Admiral Lord Frederic Herbert Kerr and Emily Sophia Maitland, on 24 January 1915.1 He died on 24 November 1962 at age 83.1
He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Mounted Infantry.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches and was severely wounded.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He was awarded the Croce di Guerra.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus of Italy.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.1 He was commanding officer of the National Defence Companies between 1939 and 1940.1 He was commanding officer of the 8th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment between 1939 and 1940.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1944.1

Colonel Hon. Sir Henry George Louis Crichton was born on 7 April 1844.2 He was the son of John Crichton, 3rd Earl Erne of Crom Castle and Selina Griselda Beresford.3 He married, firstly, Letitia Grace Cole-Hamilton, daughter of Major Arthur Willoughby Cole-Hamilton and Emilia Katherine Beresford, on 17 August 1869.1 He married, secondly, Lady Jane Emma Baring, daughter of Thomas George Baring, 1st Earl of Northbrook and Elizabeth Harriett Sturt, on 29 January 1890.3 He died on 10 May 1922 at age 78.2
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 10th and 21st Hussars.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King Edward VII.2 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1911.2 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel and County Commandant in the Hampshire Volunteer Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 5th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Hampshire Yeomanry.2 He lived at Netley Castle, Netley Abbey, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
