Sir Thomas Browne was born circa 1535 at West Betchworth, Brockham, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Henry Browne and Katherine Shelley.1,2 He married, firstly, Mabel FitzWilliam, daughter of Sir William FitzWilliam and Jane Roberts.2 He married Helen Harding, daughter of William Harding.2 He died on 9 February 1597 at West Betchworth, Brockham, Surrey, England.2
He lived at Bettsworth Castle, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was educated in 1547 at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2

Elizabeth Adam was the daughter of William Adam.1 She married Sir Ambrose Browne, 1st Bt., son of Sir Matthew Browne and Jane Vincent, on 1 October 1607 at Fulmere, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 She died circa October 1657.1 She was buried on 19 October 1657 at Dorking, Surrey, EnglandG.1 She died intestate and her estate was administered to her son, Sir Adam Browne, Bt. on 19 December 1661.1
From 1 October 1607, her married name became Browne.1
