Martin Folkes1

Sir Richard Cust, 1st Bt.1

Sir Richard Cust, 1st Bt. was baptised on 23 June 1622 at Boston, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Samuel Cust and Ann Burrell. He married Beatrice Pury, daughter of William Pury and Elizabeth Millett, on 29 December 1644.1 He died on 30 August 1700 at age 78.1 He was buried on 6 September 1700 at St. George's Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.3 His will was proven (by probate) on 2 December 1700.3
He was also known as Sir Richard Cust.4 He was admitted to Inner Temple on 18 February 1640/41.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 31 December 1642 in the trained bands in the Parliament Army.2 He was a practising barrister on 5 February 1649/50.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lincolnshire in 1653.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cust, of Stamford, co. Lincoln [England] on 29 September 1677.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stamford between 1679 and 1681.4 His last will was dated 26 April 1699.

From 29 December 1644, her married name became Cust. Her last will was dated 15 December 1711.2

Sir Pury Cust1

Sir Pury Cust was born circa 1655.2 He was the son of Sir Richard Cust, 1st Bt. and Beatrice Pury.3 He married, firstly, Ursula Woodcock, daughter of Edward Woodcock, on 21 August 1678.1 He married, secondly, Alice Savile, daughter of William Savile, before 1698.1 He died on 21 February 1698/99.1
He was appointed Knight circa 1660.2

Sir Richard Cust, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 30 October 1680 at St. George's Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir Pury Cust and Ursula Woodcock.1 He married Anne Brownlow, daughter of Sir William Brownlow, 4th Bt. and Dorothy Mason, in 1717.1 He died on 25 July 1734 at age 53.1 He was buried at St. George's Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) in August 1754.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Cust, of Stamford, co. Lincoln [E., 1677] on 30 August 1700.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1721.2
