Maj.-Gen. Sir Francis Hastings Doyle, 1st Bt.1

Maj.-Gen. Sir Francis Hastings Doyle, 1st Bt. was born on 3 January 1783.2 He was the son of General Wellbore Ellis Doyle and Frances Rainsford.3 He married Diana Elizabeth Milner, daughter of Sir William Mordaunt Milner, 3rd Bt. and Diana Sturt, on 2 June 1804.1 He died on 6 November 1839 at age 56.1
He fought in the Flanders Campaign.2 He fought in the Battle of Copenhagen.2 He was chairman of the Board of Excise.2 He held the office of Deputy-Lieutenant of the Tower of London.2 He was created 1st Baronet Doyle, of Boscombe, Wiltshire [U.K.] on 18 February 1828.2
