Brig.-Gen. Arthur Kingscote Potter was born on 7 April 1905 at Lower Mount Street, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Richard Ellis Potter and Harriot Isabel Kingscote.1 He married Hilda Hodgkinson Butterfield, daughter of William Arthur Butterfield and Rebecca Emelda Stevenson, on 20 July 1950 at Marylebone Register Office, Marylebone, London, EnglandG. He died on 25 February 1998 at age 92 at King Edward VII Hospital, Easebourne, Midhurst, Sussex, EnglandG.1
He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was with the Indian Civil Service, Burma in 1928.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the British Army.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.1 He was HM Treasury Representative in India, pakistan and Burma between 1947 and 1950.1 He was Assistant Secretary, HM Treasury between 1950 and 1956.1 He was Counsellor, UK Delegation to NATO between 1956 and 1965 at Paris, FranceG.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1957.1
