Beatrice Constance Campbell-Orde was born on 25 February 1903.1 She is the daughter of Henry Campbell Campbell-Orde and Marie Elizabeth Barr.2 She married, firstly, Rodney Whittard Doherty on 13 June 1929.1 She married, secondly, Edward Errol Maitland-Heriot, son of Frederick Maitland-Heriot and Emily Macaulay Pelly, in 1956.1
From 13 June 1929, her married name became Doherty. From 1956, her married name became Maitland-Heriot.

He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War between 1916 and 1918, with the Royal Naval Air Service.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)2
