Henry Neville Gladstone, 1st and last Baron Gladstone of Hawarden1

Henry Neville Gladstone, 1st and last Baron Gladstone of Hawarden was born on 2 April 1852 at Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. William Ewart Gladstone and Catherine Glynne.3 He married Hon. Maud Ernestine Rendel, daughter of Stuart Rendel, 1st Baron Rendel of Hatchlands and Ellen Sophy Hubbard, on 30 January 1890 at St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 28 April 1935 at age 83, without issue.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at King's College London, London, EnglandG.2 He was with Gillanders, Arbuthnot and Company between 1874 and 1888 at IndiaG.2 He was Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.1 He was a director of P&O, and of B.I. Steamship Company.2 He held the office of Alderman of the Flint County COuncil in 1916.2 He held the office of Lord of the Manor of Hawarden.1 He held the office of President of the University College of North Wales at Bangor.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Flint.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was created 1st Baron Gladstone of Hawarden, of Hawarden, co. Flint [U.K.] on 22 June 1932.1 He held the office of Constable of Flint Castle in 1934.2 On his death, his title became extinct.2

Hon. Maud Ernestine Rendel1

Hon. Maud Ernestine Rendel was born circa 1866 at St. James, Paddington, London, EnglandG.2 She is the daughter of Stuart Rendel, 1st Baron Rendel of Hatchlands and Ellen Sophy Hubbard.1,3 She married Henry Neville Gladstone, 1st and last Baron Gladstone of Hawarden, son of Rt. Hon. William Ewart Gladstone and Catherine Glynne, on 30 January 1890 at St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1
She was Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)4 From 30 January 1890, her married name became Gladstone.5 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 After her marriage, Hon. Maud Ernestine Rendel was styled as Baroness Gladstone of Hawarden on 22 June 1932. She was Dame of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.) (d ) on 23 July 1941.4
