Hon Randall Thomas Davidson, 1st Baron Davidson of Lambeth was born on 7 April 1848.1 He was the son of Henry Davidson and Henrietta Swinton.1 He married Edith Murdoch Tait, daughter of Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Archibald Campbell Tait and Catherine Spooner, on 12 November 1878.1 He died on 25 May 1930 at age 82, without issue.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1871 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Deacon in 1874.1 He was the Curate between 1874 and 1877 at Dartford, Kent, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1875 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Resident Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury between 1877 and 1883.1 He held the office of Honorary Chaplain to HM Queen Victoria between 1882 and 1883.1 He held the office of Dean of Windsor between 1883 and 1891.1 He graduated in 1890 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Bishop of Rochester between 1891 and 1895.1 He held the office of Clerk of the Closet to HM Queen Victoria between 1891 and 1901.1 He held the office of Bishop of Winchester between 1895 and 1903.1 He held the office of Clerk of the Closet to HM King Edward VII between 1901 and 1903.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1902.1 He held the office of Archbishop of Canterbury between 1903 and 1928.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1904.1 He was awarded the Royal Victorian Chain in 1911.1 He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of St. Saviour of Greece in 1918.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Sava of Serbia in 1919 1st Class.1 He was awarded the Grand Cordon, Order of the Crown of Belgium in 1919.1 He was created 1st Baron Davidson of Lambeth, of Lambeth, co.
