Sir William Stapleton, 3rd Bt.1

Sir William Stapleton, 3rd Bt. was born on 14 November 1674.1 He was the son of Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. and Anne Russell.1 He married Frances Russell, daughter of Sir James Russell and Penelope Tyrrell, on 23 January 1696/97 at Stepney, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 6 December 1699 at age 25 at NevisG.1
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Stapleton, of the Leeward Islands in America [E., 1679] on 17 July 1690.1

Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt.1

Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. was the son of Redmund Stapleton and unknown daughter Fogarty.2 He married Anne Russell, daughter of Colonel Randolph Russell, before 1672.1 He died on 3 August 1686 at Paris, FranceG.1
He held the office of Governor-General of the Leeward Islands.3 He followed King Charles II into exile.2 He was created 1st Baronet Stapleton, of the Leeward Islands in America [England] on 20 December 1679.1

Anne Russell was the daughter of Colonel Randolph Russell.1 She married Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt., son of Redmund Stapleton and unknown daughter Fogarty, before 1672.1 She died on 8 July 1722.1
From before 1672, her married name became Stapleton.1

Frances Russell was the daughter of Sir James Russell and Penelope Tyrrell.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Walter Lake.2 She married, firstly, Sir William Stapleton, 3rd Bt., son of Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bt. and Anne Russell, on 23 January 1696/97 at Stepney, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 14 January 1746.1
Her married name became Lake.2 From 23 January 1696/97, her married name became Stapleton.1
