Somerled, Thane of Argyll1

M, #24565, d. 1164
Somerled, Thane of Argyll married Ragnhild (?), daughter of Olaf Bitling, King of Man and the Isles, in 1140. He died in 1164 at Renfrew, Renfrewshire, ScotlandG, killed in action.1
He gained the title of Thane of Argyll.1 In 1158 he acquired the Southern Isles or Sudreys by conquest.1 He gained the title of King Somerled of the Sudreys recognised by the King of Norway.1 He fought in the camapign against Malcolm IV, King of Scotland in 1164.

Sir James Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 2nd Bt.1

Sir James Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 July 1788 at Dunragit, Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.2,3,1 He was the son of Sir John Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 1st Bt. and Susan Hay.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Heron-Maxwell, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Shaw Heron-Maxwell of Springkell, 4th Bt. and Mary Heron, on 27 September 1819.4,5 He married, secondly, Anne Hathorn, daughter of George Hathorn and Sarah Donaldson, on 31 March 1823 at St. Pancras New Church, London, England.4 He died on 19 March 1861 at age 72 at Dunragit, Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.4
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dalrymple-Hay, of Park Place, co. Wigtown [G.B., 1798] on 12 May 1812.1

Hon. Anthony Asquith was born on 9 November 1902.1 He was the son of Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith and Emma Alice Margaret Tennant.2,1 He died on 21 February 1968 at age 65.2
Hon. Anthony Asquith also went by the nick-name of Puffin.1 He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was a film director.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)2
