Captain John Witham Esmonde1

Captain John Witham Esmonde was born on 13 August 1907.2 He was the son of John Joseph Esmonde and Eily O'Sullivan.1,3 He married Aileen Mary Harold-Barry, daughter of Harold Philip Harold-Barry and Helen Frances Mary Riddell, on 29 October 1940.1 He died on 28 March 1983 at age 75.2,4
He gained the rank of Captain (Engineering) in the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1943.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 As of 1976, Captain John Witham Esmonde lived at Ballyellis, Buttevant, County Cork, IrelandG.1

John Joseph Esmonde1

John Joseph Esmonde was born on 27 January 1862.2 He was the son of James Esmonde and Caroline Sugrue.2,3 He married, firstly, Rose Magennis, daughter of John Magennis, on 7 May 1888.2 He married, secondly, Eily O'Sullivan, daughter of Dr. D. A. O'Sullivan, on 24 July 1904.3 He died on 17 April 1915 at age 53.3
He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (L.R.C.S.I.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Tipperary between 1910 and 1915.2 He lived at Drominagh, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in 1915 in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1
