Air Marshal Sir John Cotesworth Slessor was the son of Major Arthur Kerr Slessor.3 He married, firstly, Hermione Grace Guinness, daughter of Gerald Seymour Guinness and Eleanor Grace de Capell Brooke, on 8 May 1923.1 He was also reported to have been married on 18 May 1923.4 He died in 1979.1
He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Marshal of the Royal Air Force.1
