Archibald Richard Burdon Haldane was born on 18 November 1900 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Stowell Haldane and Margaret Edith Stuart Nelson.3 He married Janet Macrae Simpson-Smith, daughter of Thomas Henry Simpson-Smith, in 1941 at Fulham, London, England.1,2 He died on 18 October 1982 at age 81 at Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland.2
