Maj.-Gen. Sir William Fry 2

Maj.-Gen. Sir William Fry was born on 8 September 1858.3 He was the son of Thomas Fry.1 He married Ellen Margaret Goldie-Taubman, daughter of Sir John Senhouse Goldie-Taubman, on 13 September 1886.1 He died on 30 March 1934 at age 75.1
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1900.3 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1909.3 He was Colonel of the West Yorkshire Regiment between 1912 and 1934.1 He was Major-General of the administration of Ireland between 1916 and 1919.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of the Isle of Man between 1919 and 1926.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1920.3 He lived in 1934 at The Old Rectory, Winkfield, Berkshire, EnglandG.3

Sir Henry Russell Hornby, 2nd Bt.1

Sir Henry Russell Hornby, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 September 1888 at Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir William Henry Hornby, 1st Bt. and Letitia Grace Clayton-Browne.3,2 He married Dorothy Elma Fry, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir William Fry and Ellen Margaret Goldie-Taubman, on 14 July 1913.1 He died on 3 January 1971 at age 82 at Blackburn, Lancashire, EnglandG.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire in 1921.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hornby, of Brookhouse, Blackburn, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1899] on 22 October 1928.4 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.2
