Henry Joseph Cooke was born on 24 May 1852 at Boom Hall, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Joseph Cooke and Frances Walker.1 He married Mary Elizabeth Beresford, daughter of John Barré Beresford and Caroline Hamilton Ash, on 6 February 1899.1 He died on 30 June 1923 at age 71 at 23 Hinde Street, London, EnglandG.1 He was also reported to have died on 1 July 1923.2
He was educated at Foyle College, Duncreggan, County Londonderry, IrelandG.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Derry in 1912.2 He lived at Boom Hall, Londonderry, County Londonderry, IrelandG.
