Mervyn Wingfield, 7th Viscount Powerscourt was born on 13 October 1836 at Powerscourt, County Wicklow, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of Richard Wingfield, 6th Viscount Powerscourt and Lady Elizabeth Frances Charlotte Jocelyn.1 He married Lady Julia Coke, daughter of Thomas William Coke, 2nd Earl of Leicester of Holkham and Juliana Whitbread, on 26 April 1864 at St. George's Hanover Square, London, England.3,2 He died on 5 June 1904 at age 67 at 51 Portland Place, London, England.1,2
He succeeded as the 7th Baron Wingfield, of Wingfield, co. Wexford [I., 1743] on 11 August 1844.1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount of Powerscourt, of Powerscourt, co. Wicklow [I., 1743] on 11 August 1844.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1854 and 1862 in the 1st Life Guards.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1865 and 1904.1 He was created 1st Baron Powerscourt, of Powerscourt, co. Lady Elizabeth Frances Charlotte Jocelyn was born on 13 December 1813.2 She was the daughter of Robert Jocelyn, 3rd Earl of Roden and Hon. Maria Frances Catherine Stapleton.3 She married, firstly, Richard Wingfield, 6th Viscount Powerscourt, son of Richard Wingfield, 5th Viscount Powerscourt and Lady Frances Theodosia Jocelyn, on 25 January 1836.1 She married, secondly, Frederick William Robert Stewart, 4th Marquess of Londonderry, son of Charles William Vane, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry and Lady Catherine Bligh, on 30 April 1846 at British EMbassy, Paris, France.1,2 She died on 2 September 1884 at age 70 at 25 Upper Brook Street, London, England.1,2
After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Frances Charlotte Jocelyn was styled as Viscountess Powerscourt on 25 January 1836. From 25 January 1836, her married name became Wingfield. From 30 April 1846, her married name became Stewart. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Frances Charlotte Jocelyn was styled as Marchioness of Londonderry on 6 March 1854.

Maria Frances Catherine Stapleton, daughter of Thomas Stapleton, 12th Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Eliot, on 9 January 1813 at St. George's Hanover Square, London, England.3,4 He married, secondly, Clementina Janet Andrews, daughter of Thomas Andrews, on 16 August 1862.3 He died on 20 March 1870 at age 81 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3,4
