Sir James Dalyell of the Binns, 3rd Bt.1

Sir James Dalyell of the Binns, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1690.1 He was the son of James Menteith of Auldcathy and Magdalen Dalyell.2 He married Helen Campbell, daughter of Robert Campbell.1 He died on 28 February 1747.1
He gained the rank of Ensign in the Cadogan's Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Dalyell [N.S., 1685] between 1723 and 1728, as heir of tailzie in possession of Binns (though not heir male.)1 Between 1723 and 1728 he inherited the Binns.1

Helen Campbell1

Helen Campbell was the daughter of Robert Campbell.2 She married Sir James Dalyell of the Binns, 3rd Bt., son of James Menteith of Auldcathy and Magdalen Dalyell.1 She died on 29 January 1774.1
Her married name became Dalyell.1

Sir Robert Dalyell of the Binns, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir James Dalyell of the Binns, 3rd Bt. and Helen Campbell.2 He married Elizabeth Graham, daughter of Nicol Graham, 4th of Gallingad and 5th of Gartmore and Margaret Cuninghame, on 22 September 1773.1 He died on 10 October 1791.1
He fought in the officer, British Army. and served on the Continent.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Dalyell [N.S., 1685] on 28 February 1747.1
